Peony Passion: Watercolour and Floristry Workshop

Learn the art of botanical watercolour painting with Harriet de Winton and then enjoy creating your own hand-tied bouquet from flowers you have picked on the farm.

Relax in the beautiful surroundings of the flower farm – set in an ancient orchard – and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring local Devon produce. The lunch will be cooked by local chef Kate Lewis who has cooked on retreats around the world. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available.

Farm-owner and florist Amelia Cooper-Smith will lead a walk around her 2-acre farm, giving you the opportunity to pick your own flowers, hopefully including some fantastic peonies! Back in the barn she will teach you how to use the flowers to make a hand-tied bouquet to take home.

Watercolour Botanicals full day retreat

Taking inspiration from seasonal blooms and the River Cottage garden you will spend a full day learning how to paint flowers and foliage in the new botanical style. You will start with the fundamentals of watercolour as well as understanding the key steps to painting any plant or flower. You will paint on both a large and small scale, creating arrangements and patterns.

Food is always the focus at River Cottage, so you will also enjoy a delicious two-course lunch of local, seasonal fare.

Harriet runs the de Winton Paper co, creating watercolour wedding stationery and original artworks. She runs a vibrant online teaching community with a thriving Youtube channel and Patreon.
